Paediatric First Aid

This 1-day Paediatric First Aid course is designed to teach you how to provide the highest standard of emergency first aid to infants and children under 8 years old. The course covers the latest first aid skills adapted specifically for children to minimise risks and improve their chances of survival in emergencies.

You will gain the confidence and knowledge to handle life-threatening situations as well as common childhood illnesses and injuries such as bleeding, asthma, burns, choking, fractures, soft tissue injuries, and head injuries.

Course Content includes:

  • Emergency first aid principles for children
  • Prevention of cross-infection
  • Basic life support (CPR & AED use) adapted for children
  • Managing unconscious casualties
  • Treating wounds, bleeds, burns, and poisoning
  • Handling anaphylaxis, shock, and sudden illness
  • Managing fractures, dislocations, asthma attacks, epilepsy, and diabetes

Upon successful completion, learners receive a nationally recognised Paediatric First Aid certificate.
