Food Safety and Catering Training Course

This course is designed for learners working in the catering industry and other food handlers. It also serves as an introduction for those seeking higher levels of training in food safety. Participants will gain essential knowledge and understanding of key food safety issues necessary to protect consumer health. The course covers vital areas identified by the Food Standards Agency to maintain food safety and hygiene.

Duration

The course requires a minimum of 6 hours of classroom contact time, delivered over at least one day. It can be spread over up to 3 weeks, with each session lasting a minimum of two hours. The class size is limited to 16 learners per Trainer/Assessor.

Assessment

Assessment is ongoing throughout the course by the instructor. A short quiz, including multiple choice and short answer questions, will be conducted at the end.

Certification

Upon successful completion, delegates will receive an HSE-compliant certificate valid for three years, emailed within 48 hours to the lead contact. Hard copy certificates are available at an additional cost.

An OFQUAL Accredited and Regulated RQF Level 2 Food Safety in Catering course with certification can also be arranged at extra cost if requested at booking.

Important Information

Candidates should have satisfactory English literacy and numeracy skills to understand the course and complete assessments.

ID verification is required at the start of the course.

Training rooms should be quiet and appropriately sized.

Staff must be off duty and remain for the entire duration of the training.
