Our Child Protection and Safeguarding training course provides a solid foundation in child protection knowledge and skills, essential for anyone regularly working with children and young people. This course equips you to recognise and respond appropriately to concerns and referrals related to child abuse.

Course Content includes:

  • Background and context for children’s safeguarding
  • Safeguarding principles from the Children’s Act and Working Together guidance
  • Types of abuse and neglect
  • Handling concerns, allegations, and disclosures
  • Information sharing between agencies
  • Practice examples, scenarios, and case studies

Learning Outcomes:

Participants will gain a thorough understanding of child protection and safeguarding, including:

  • Knowledge of safeguarding legislation
  • Ability to identify potential indicators of child abuse
  • Understanding of appropriate actions to take when concerns or allegations arise

Please note, this course is not intended for experienced safeguarding leads or local authority staff with additional safeguarding responsibilities. For those individuals, we recommend our accredited Designated Safeguarding Lead Training.

Duration:

The Child Protection and Safeguarding course is available as either a half-day or full-day training session.
